  Why won't JWs have "civilized" debates with home owners?

  it seems kind of crazy to go to someone's house touting your religion as truth and then not even defend your own beliefs.

  why do jws stop the chat if someone just tries to calmly reason/debate with them?

  i'm not talking about crazy preachers who start slamming bibles and yelling about how they need jesus or something.

  We're not there to debate with householders.

  We're searching for Jehovah's lost sheep.

  If you don't want to serve Jehovah with us, then you're not who we're looking for.

  The JW life is good!

  for some people.

  i think of the old man who has no family and lives in a nursing home, and the only time he gets out is when he's picked up for the meetings.

  he lives solely for that.. or people who love routine and busy-ness, people who need to be led.. george orwell wrote that the party is best able to impose its worldview on those least likely to understand what it is that's being asked of them: orthodoxy is unconsciousness.. i believe a lot of jws swallow the party line and it passes through them unharmed, like a seed pooped out by a bird.

  Idealism for me. Converted in my mid 20's from agnosticism. I wanted to find the best way of life and I found it with Jehovah and His people.

  Looking back on my life I can see that I was conceived to serve Jehovah and I wouldn't want it any other way.

  it appears individual states of the usa are starting to get that ball rolling right now.. .

  with the world wide child sexual abuse cover-ups across the globe getting special attention from the media.. legislators across the usa seem to have lost the fear of getting the nod of disapproval of 'clergy', especially from the younger members.. law professor marci a. hamilton writes, "across the country, the movement for justice for child-sex-abuse victims is finding that conversations that used to begin with a discussion of the catholic bishops' opposition (and then often ended abruptly) are now started by a member's saying, "they don't deserve deference on this issue.

  We choose to serve Jehovah, but Jehovah chooses HOW we will serve Him.

  Michelle, the only ones who are in the GT as "sealed" ones are the anointed.

  Satan will not be able to destroy their faith, but he may be able to attack them. Some of them may die as martyrs.

  We don't know all the details of the GT. Get as close to Jehovah as you can NOW and hope for the best.

  "Keep awake, then, all the time making supplication that you may succeed in escaping all these things that are destined to occur, and in standing before the Son of man." (Luke 21:36)

  "Jehovah's Witnesses are the key target of the Great Tribulation."

  In a sense, this is true. We will be the key target of Satan, especially the anointed.

  But at one time or another during the GT, EVERYONE will become a target.

  The only difference is that most JW's will survive whereas most everyone else will not.

  wha, the One that I was referring to is Jehovah, not the GB.

  The anointed don't have to be FDS to be relevant.

  The anointed are relevant today because they help the other sheep to serve Jehovah.
